I've had plenty of issues with Asus QC

Nexus 7 (v1) screen separating from chasis > creaking when holding it from the top. PC world opened two more boxes before a satisfactory one was found.
Asus Laptop: Overheating and then shutting down. Sent off for repair and the engineers report simply stated the CPU fan wasn't plugged in
Transformer Prime: Bright spots on LCD panel > return (I believe you had the same issue Blaggard)

IMHO the Koreans (Samsung, LG) seem to be approaching the Japanese for reliability and quality. Taiwanese manufacturers like Asus and HTC still have some way to go.

I am tempted. I was going to keep my Nexus 4 for another year, but I dropped it on Saturday and now have an excuse.

I am trading in my Galaxy S4 for an LG G2, its basically the Nexus 5 with bigger screen, bigger battery capacity and better camera.. all in the same sized chasis and by the same manufacturer. And by all account the LG Android overlay is one of the best (certainly compared to Touchjizz), with 'knock on' being particularly innovative (you simply double tap the screen to wake up and turn off the phone).

G2 does sound good but won't the N5 be half to a third of the price?

The LG G2 is on 3 for £399 and worth every penny, the Nexus 5 will be commensurately cheaper and lower spec.

LG destroys Asus when it comes to quality control. I will never own an Asus built device again.

Its just an engineering build, and probably a month or so old. Google will want to wait until the last possible moment before taking the wraps off their latest update.

Have to agree with the Asus comment, my brother has endless problems with Asus laptops and my two Asus transformer tablets were both poorly finished.

I use this on my current Nexus 4. It does the double tap or I can swipe right (anywhere on screen) to turn on screen, swipe left (on the soft buttons) to turn off screen. Looks like LG are doing an apple and copying independent devs work and puting it in production (SBSettings anyone).

Looks like this phone may be starting at the same price as the 16GB Nexus 4 ($349) which was sold in the UK for £279..

The Nexus 5 leaks are coming in hard and fast: after Google itself slipped a press shot of the new device on the Play Store, confirming its appearance, price, and name, now what looks to be the retail box of the device showed up on a Korean site.
The images below were published by Korean site UnderKG, then quickly pulled down for reasons we don’t know (possibly on LG’s request?). However, some users managed to download the shots from UnderKG’s Facebook page, which has also been taken down since then.

The retail box features the same minimalist design as the retail package of the Nexus 7 (2013), including the exact same nuance of blue. Interestingly, the box shows the white version of the Nexus 5, which, until now, we only suspected it existed.
Now that we know the price of the Nexus 5, there’s just one more crucial detail to uncover – the release date. The most credible rumors suggest Google will launch the new Nexus at the end of the month, possibly on October 31.

I just hope it still has the quality feel of the Nexus 4. In the video, it looks a bit plasticy which I really hope it isn't. It's the main reason I didn't go with Samsung S4
