Free VMware Certifications

I know there are a few of you on here working in IT, so as a heads up VMware are offering the ability to take the VMware Certified Associate exams this month for free!

Just go to one of the following links and have a look at the CBT, and then sign up for the exam:

VMware Certified Associate - Data Center Virtualization
VMware Certified Associate - Cloud
VMware Certified Associate - Workforce Mobility

There is an offer of 50% off this month, and then if you use the code VCA13ICS and you will be able to do the exam for free.

Unlike the more technical VCP exam these can be done from the comfort of your own home - they're new certifications and appear to be more for marketing folks but at the end of the day having these on your CV isn't a bad thing.

I've done the first couple in the last couple of nights and want to do the third by the weekend if I get chance and then have to do the proper VCP-DCV in the next couple of weeks!

I forgot the best thing about the citrix ones is if you dont get all the answers right when you do the end of module exam, you could, "Ahem" have two browser windows open.

I signed up to Train Signal and they got bought out by Pluralsight who have courses on pretty much everything - the best thing is you get access to both!

Train Signal are good for certain courses and tutors and CBT Nuggets are better for others. I do get fedup with the american accent though and them wetting their pants in commentary about certain parts in the videos.

There are more than enough torrents for CBT's/Train Signal courses but a lot are out of date. If you look at the link Rev in the post above, you will find all the latest self paced courses and the mock exams to go with them.

Nice one thanks mate - I've used that forum in the past and it's really good - to be fair their practice tests are the same as the real ones, although some do have the wrong answers in sometimes - not sure if they're trying to catch you out!

I've just done the last VCA exam so that's all three done now - I found the Cloud one the hardest, in fact after taking the Workforce Mobility one I'm tempted to do the View exam after my normal VCP!

The thing is the exams have new questions\answers added all the time, so this is where there answers are not known, in the same context the answers are sometimes not known because the questions are ambiguous at best and several of the multiple choice answers could apply for that exact question. If you look at the voting on the practice tests you can see which is the more reliable and also where it was last applicable and what date. Will bash out the VMware ones tomorrow whilst working hard !

Looks like the two of them are needed, if you goto this link, you can click on each exam and see what others said about the questions and how many were right and if valid, people sometimes use two or more practice exams from different authors

How much work/revision are these? As I could do with all of these but don't have much dedicated free time

If you know VMware they're not bad at all mate, the CBTs are only listed at about three hours a piece. The proper VCP and upwards need way, way more indepth knowledge but these are a good starter for ten!

So three hours and ten hours roughly? I can spare that, I'll sign up tomorrow. Can never have enough certificates etc on my CV / Linkedin
