How did this happen?

I have a technical question regarding a picture message that was received by someone recently.

In July 2012 I sent a picture message to my ex girlfriend. It was nothing dodgy it was just an innocent picture when I was at the football. The following day I asked her if she received it as my mobile still said it was 'sending'. She said she didn't so I sent it again.

We broke up later on that year and that was that.

Last week she text me asking why I was sending her picture messages of myself! I had no idea what she was on about and it turned out it was the picture message I sent her the year before!

I checked with O2 and they said it was indeed sent last week but I've absolutely no idea how that happened.

Is it possible somehow the first message that didn't go through lay in cyberspace for a year and then all of a sudden sent itself? Or is my ex playing mind games and somehow has made it look like it's been sent again, but if that's the case why is it showing on my O2 account as it being sent last week?

I'm really confused how this has happened and I'd like to get to the bottom of it.

never had that happen before, i know i have tried to send MMS before and it fails to send and then i try a couple more times and then when it finally sends it will send all the failed attempts too, very strange that it delayed sending for a year though, but i bet mobileman will know the answer to your issue

I've sent an MMS to my Dad before (verified as correct number in sent items) which was delivered to a completely different phone number... So I guess it's definitely plausible that it's taken a year to get there, if they can't even get the recipient correct.

I once sent a regular text message to someone saying happy birthday.

Coincidently 8 months later, we were both in Reykjavik together and she received it.

i once sent a text message to my missus, and the message she recieved was the first half of what i had sent her, along with the next half removed and replaced by another text message sent by someone else at the same time on the same network. Like a criss crossing of texts.

The other half of the text was something to do about wanting to get tested for chlamiydia. Needless to say my missus went apeshit! Phoned up EE and they launched an investigation into it.

Almost ended my marriage before it had begun! lol

A longshot but could your ex have turned her phone off because she was so heartbroken when you fucked her off and has only just come to terms with the loss and moved on that she now feels she could cope with contact from other people and so turned it back on?

In theory that could be possible... but very doubtful if you've ever seen a photo of Argyll
