Call Of Duty Ghosts Runs @ 720p on Xbox One, 1080p on PS4

Yes another game AAA title will be running at 720p natively on Xbox One (upscaled to 1080p), compared to the PS4 version running at 1080p natively.

I don't really think it's worrying the consumer too much although there is a lot of debate about it, sure it looks good but some people can't tell the difference between 720 and 1080. I'd be more interested in the gameplay/experience rather than more pixels.

both look fucking identical to me, apart from the xbone portion of the screen has the contrast ramped up.

you have to be fucking nuts, or retarded to choose a console based on these videos.

More to the point in my opinion is, why does the game look exactly the same on both videos? with all this particle physics and what have you that these consoles should breeze though, surely rain, fire and so on shouldn't look exactly the same every time you play the game.

These comparisons are pointless with current/next gen games. You would never ever notice the difference (stop lying to yourself) if it was not for charts and graphs of performance statistics. Your TV probably does some magic that you don't know about which means your only getting upscaled output in any case.

I am not sure why people are so obsessed... "Oh, COD Ghosts installs quicker on a PS4 so I am going to buy one of them rather than a shit Xbox One" is the typical argument you see from people now days.. you only ever install the game once ffs!

Games comparisons on consoles used to mean something. Go back to the SNES v Megadrive/Genesis days, that was a time when it did make sense.
For example comparing Mortal Kombat on both systems, Nintendo used to rip all of the gore out. Aladdin on the same machines, it was a licensed game developed by different companies on each box! The games were very very different..

If you are telling me that you would make a choice of buying a console because of some shading in one part of the same game that runs the same and plays the same is better than the other, then you are pretty sad.

I agree, personally I can't tell the difference in any screenshots except there's a few more jaggies in the Xbox One screens if you look really closely. But the Xbox apparently does a better job at upscaling than the PS4 so overall looks better anyway.

Many are saying that the Xbox should be more than capable at running COD Ghosts at 1080p natively though and you will probably see a difference when comparison video's are out. Myself on my 360, I can't tell the difference at all between 720p and 1080p, both look good to me!

I don't think whether you can see the difference or not is relavent, the fact the ps4 can handle it and the Xbox can't kinda suggests the ps4 is the more powerful machine or better at handling graphics. If the ps4 ran at 720p then the frame rate should be better, that said, what is the frame rate of the clips shown?
I'm sure there's lots of people running there machines on big projection screens or v.big TVs where you will see the difference between 720p and 1080p. Personally I'm not too bothered as I'll probably not buy either.

that would be an issue if they were comparable, but they're not. No games cross format developer will ever pull 100% out of both hardware, any difficulties in achieving resolution could be down to the developer, or just dev time restrictions. There will be games that other devs will push to 1080p on the xbox that they cant on the PS4. Console gaming is boring as hell with these comparisons.

To be honest I am shocked this is an issue at all, the game itself looks good, but I wouldn't say its night and day compared to current hardware and we cant even rely on a resolution bump to justify the new machines. PC gaming has been pushing much higher res in games for a while now and I for one expect these new consoles to at least stand up to current high end PC gaming.

Completed it on Veteran already the story is so so poor, you do missions but don't see any rhyme or reason to it.

Had a quick look at a few of the maps in combat training and didn't look too impressive, and what's the suitcase about? there's A blue suitcase in TDM and if you pick it up you get a special task to do like Kill one person with a headshot or kill a person by shooting in back but didn't see any reward really for completing task???

Other than that the Multiplayer seemed same same for me.

I believe its 880x720 on current gen and Wii-U.
It's 1280x720 on Xbox One
And 1920x1080 on PS4
