Default USB 3.0 Drivers for Win 7

    Hi all,

I've purchased a HP Pavillion e092sa. It came pre-installed with the shitty and horrible windows 8. I had a Windows 7 Utimate lying around, so decided to downgrade to Win 7. I then used Driver Genius to update all the drivers I need. However the only driver it hasn't updated is for the 2 USB 3.0 ports. I've had a look around and I'm unable to find drivers anywhere, Someone also mentioned updating my chipset driver. However AMD only have the drivers for WIN 8.

Does anyone know a solution or any generic USB 3.0 drivers to get these two ports working again?

    Thanks in advance.

    JJ

This would be down to the Chipset Driver to sort out.
Check HP's website for the Windows 7 version and install it. If it's not there, you can try to install the Windows 8 driver manually from Device Manager. May work, may not.

Not an option, doesn't exist, I checked.

The other option is to identify the VEN_ DEV_ ID's in Device Manager under Details > Hardware ID's and search http://www.pcidatabase.com/ doe a Windows 7 driver for it.

Thanks for your reply. Don't suppose you have a plan C, if the above didn't work?

    PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7814&SUBSYS_2139103C&REV_01
    PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7814&SUBSYS_2139103C
    PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7814&CC_0C0330
    PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7814&CC_0C03

These are the ID's and I've checked that website, presuming that I have done this correct, no luck.

I believe these are a new type of hardware or something, which maybe why there is not a lot of support for them. (Something I read on the HP support forum)

Try and install one of these, direct form AMD - newest first, which are the ones dated '9/18/2013' v13.9.

    One of them should work.

    Thanks to DejaVu

Excellent, thank you very much. I've been looking almost everywhere for that. I was beginning to give up.

It has also made my laptop faster too. Thanks again.

Usb3 drivers are weird, I have created a custom win 7 installer which incorporates all the usb3 drivers I could get but it doesn't like to install using most usb3 ports. I have a driver updater USB for when I have installed a clean OS but it always fails to install usb3 drivers.

They do certainly seem to be a pain the ass. It has taken me ages to try and fix this (with the thanks to DejaVu)

Why are they such a pain? They're just USB ports...

They are a pita because it's relatively new hardware. Similar things happened way back when USB2 was new. Most were stuck on really crap USB1.1 and didn't even realise the speed difference.

Soon USB3 will be the norm, Windows 7 will be classed as a doomed OS and we'll all be forced to move on with times. It's the way it works.

I hated Windows 8 on launch, but it's now growing on me day by day. Think it's an age thing. Middle age men don't like change. lol

I'm far from middle age and I can't stand it either. Maybe it's just the starting of getting old haha.

But yes I suppose you're right. I always thought I could/would addapt to change, being quite techy/geeky. I guess not.
