I normally do it in a stew with veg in there, brown it off dusted in seasoned flour then slow cook in the oven with some stock / veg / herbs - leave 2-3 hours in a low oven lovely - add a tablespoon of tomato puree when you are frying off veg before adding the chicken and stock

As above. The longer you leave it the better it can be. the trick is to do it slowly over time
Albert Shed in Manchester do a lovely Rabbit gnocchi starter. Here's the description from the menu...
braised rabbit in a pancetta, white wine and mushroom cream sauce with fresh buttered gnocchi.
The one above sounds interesting. But the first two are standard, in terms of slow! Rabbit is tough, but flavoursome. So slow is the way to go.

hmm sounds like a job for the slow cookert

Rabbit is a very lean muscular animal so the meat does need slow cooking to get the best from it.
