I was just playing, mainly to see how it worked with the remote shares which it did flawlessly.
That Openelec/PHT looks interesting might have to give that a whirl tomorrow.

Now I have a 'central server' type setup, I think Plex client is teh way to go and so far is working incredibly well. Coupled together with the NowTV's in all my kids rooms things feel a lot smoother, stable and even the missus is happier using the more simpler Plex.

I highly suggest this (New and a WIP) version of OpenElec/PHT from Mark Walker.

He doesn't appear to be getting much exposure for it yet, which is a shame as he's done a great job with it.

PleXBMC is a way to go, but being on a full blown install of XBMC is in a way, bloat.

Also, Channels worth considering all live on the Unsupported AppStore

    I'll take a look.

I run XBMC along with MythTV on both my Revo's and they work without any problems.
I've always used Xubuntu as base OS then installed XBMC from the repo's.
The Revo's are more than capable of running XBMC, in part due to VDPAU.

I use XBMC and it plays everything flat out and flawless, and that's on a Windows 7 install!! Plex I run from my imac and I have 2 NOW TV boxes running (Lounge, Bedroom) Chromecast which I currently run from my Nexus 2nd gen or Xperia Z.
    If at first you don't succeed.....redefine success. . . .
