Hey, hey,
I have 2 pics that i am putting to canvas via fleabay. I took the pics myself and they are family pics, but before submitting them, is there anything i should be doing to them first to get the best out of the canvas procedure?

Before you go to print, open them up in Photoshop, select IMAGE, MODE and CMYK Colour. This will show you what to expect from the final print using the colours the canvas printer will actually use.

i'm not so sure about that considering most printers use the sRGB colour gamut and more than 4 ink cartridges ( including black )
you really need to be looking at your images on a calibrated monitor to get an idea of how it will look in print or just send off for a small canvas first to see how they turn out

I would say that if you are getting it from eBay then it will probably not make any difference checking anything.
The only way you can get exact replication of what you are seeing is if your monitor is calibrated, they are calibrated to the same settings and then their printer is calibrated to the correct settings and also has the correct profile for the paper/canvas that he is using.
There is also a chance that they are using 3rd party inks and not genuine inks so the colours will not be true anyway.
So what i am saying is....
Just send the picture and hope for the best.

Will just send it in and see how we get on then - thanks!
it depends what it is for....
If it is for a customer i would at least go with a company that provides the printer profiles so you have a half decent chance of getting close.
Chance are that neither you or whoever you give it too will
a) notice
b) care
We stress about this stuff lots but the reality is that it could be an enlarged iPhone photo and it will look great.

We have a lot of images printed onto material and canvas. The commercial wide format printers we use are all profiled and CMYK. For smaller stuff I've used http://www.photobox.co.uk/ and had good results. They are currently doing a 50% off.
