It's out of stock when I just checked, reviews don't look great as you say but Bernard seems to love it

I was just thinking about getting one of these as well.

I have something similar for my car. I intended to use it to name and shame shit drivers on youtube but have never found time to edit the videos.

I've actually been thinking of getting something similar.

Anyone use one or got any recomendations? Do insurance companies take any interest?

I had a taxi reverse into me in traffic last week. Did no damage, but made me think that I would have no way of winning a claim as he reversed into me. He could easily say I drove into him...

According to the law you would need to place it outside of the drivers viewable area for it to even be accepted as evidence. Dash mounted is fine, just not suckered to the screen. I've read reports of people submitting the videos to their insurers with the other insurance company accepting liability after reviewing the vid even though placement of the camera may be questionable.

Most insurance companies won't care you've got a camera unless it's one of theirs that are hardwired into the car, it won't reduce the cost of your premium.

It's not the premium being lowered I'm interested in. I'd have to keep the car in a lock garage all year with the key kept in a bank, to even begin to lower a premium these days...

Just want to limit the chances of some joey trying it on.

It certainly can't hurt when disputing something. It's better than describing any accident in an online form.

Blackvue get good reviews but looking at around £400 for front and rear fitted.

Have a look on Focal price. I bought mine from them as it was £20 at the time. Lots of choice but be aware it may take 2 weeks to get to the UK:
