CEX your thoughts please?

I personally hate CEX with a passion, they have always been a proper rip off merchant and worse than cash converters, but I happened to just check their website this evening to see what prices vita games are going for and I noticed that they have put the prices UP on every game, games that a few months ago (august) were £2-4 were now £6-10 and it looks like they have put everything up for the xmas period. then after xmas they can simply say they doing a sale and put everything back to its normal price.

For mobile trade ins you could show them a brand new handset which you'd just taken out of the box and they'd give it a grade b for the trade in value

I brought the odd thing oout of these places but never sold. Would rather sell stuff on facebook and get more money. Plus the shops always stink.

However they provide a service and if people want to be paid pittance for there items thats down to them

Your probably right but I thought the preowned Vita games and Vita itself would be going up in price due to more Vita's being sold now that the PS4 has such great remote play.

you have the option to not buy or sell there, so they cant be really classed as rip off merchants. If you are too lazy to sell your old shit via other methods its your own problem IMO.

good for buying stuff from but not for selling, as said above its up to you if you to go there if you cant be arsed selling on ebay etc

That happened to me, Phone had basically been unboxed to check it all etc. and as I didn't need it took it in. They said their 'Engineer' could see a scratch on it which I fucking couldn't and neither the assistant talking to me. Offered me far less that what their advertised trade in value so I fucked them off.

I got the impression they advertise their prices for buying to get you to go to them for first shout. Deceptive how ever you look at it.

Had exactly the same issue, online valued my Xbox 1 stuff at £105.50 in store £37.00

I was under the impression that the price they give you in CEX, as well as other places that buy your second hand shite is dependent on how many of them they have in stock at the time, so they may give you a healthier amount of cash if you were to go to a different branch.
