    Tech Sickbeard issue.

Can anybody shed some light on an issue i have with Sickbeard.

There is a tv series that i can see in my indexer and can grab using manually Sab . ie adding the nzb myself.

However i have just got sickbeard configured on my NAS with SAB but this series won't download, it's listed in the Sickbeard search as well.

I've got other shows that have come down via sickbeard so i know it works. Is there any logical reason why a series or show won't work. I guess i know the answer and it must be somethin i'm doing wrong (maybe) but as others shows are working i'm a bit confused.

What format is the series in and what do you have selected in sickbeard? Ie ... 720/1080p?

If your asking it to download SD stuff when all it can find is HD stuff then it won't download and send the nzb to sab

If you check the sick beard log it will tell you exactly what it finds, what quality it classes it as and whether it grabs it or skips it - may be worth checking that to see what it thinks is happening?

This is the interesting bit from the log below. It's the top line that's causing my problem i suppose. There are three episodes so far in this series, only been running a month on BBC2. They're all selected as 'wanted' in sickbeard but 'no needed episodes found on the RSS feed.

    What show is it mate?

I installed mine from the git source, my mate used the windows installer version and he sometimes gets problems I don't see, maybe it's also related to that?

    Thanks to reverend

    Cheers Reverend. It's 'Wild Burma'.

I installed SB from synocommunity on my Synology NAS and it's the latest version after having checked for SB updates.
Typical, this was the first thing i thought i'd try download automatically. I thought it was my settings until i got other shows to come down.

Have you added search providers into SB? Is the show listed on that indexers site?

    Thanks to evilsatan

Yes, and it's listed on the two indexing sites.

If you click the show in your Sickbeard list are the episodes set to Wanted? When I add a new show to Sickbeard it will automatically set the shows status to Skipped to I have to manually change them to Wanted and it works.

I assume it is Wild Burma: Nature's Lost Kingdom

I have added it and am giving it a go in mine, it is not grabbing from my indexers either although it exists on the indexers. Might be that your SB works fine but as this is a smaller show it may require manual adding, have you set up sabtosickbeard scripts in sab? If so just grab manually, set the script to sabtosickbeard and then sb will do the rest for you.

    Thanks to evilsatan

    Yes set to wanted.

That'll be the problem then. I'm glad isn't wasn't me. I did have a nagging thought that as it's not a major, popular show it may have some bearing on the matter.

I haven't set up sabtosickbeard scripts. Looks like something else i'm going to have to look up learn and work on.

    Thanks again.

It's easy to do, just requires about an hour spare to read up about it and configure both ends. Once configured sb sends the job to sab, sab downloads and sends it back to sb to organise correctly. Once all is setup it is truly automated (apart from the rare manual bits like you found today).

It's all working pretty well as is. SAB seem's to be doing a good job of the post processing.

I guess using scripts would teach me a bit more about it. I've found the scripts folder, just need to understand what it'as all about.

An easier way than using the scripts is to define a a tag (I just use TV) in Sickbeard and use the SAB API. SAB downloads and is configured (using the tag) to put into a Finished_TV folder. Sickbeard then watches this folder and puts it in the right place and notifies XBMC. Job done.

All you have to do is link the scripts to sab, no real work required

I can tell you why this is not working.
It's the naming convention of the releases on the indexers...
The scene has it wrong (again!)

    Wild.Burma.S01E03.Natures.Lost.Kingdom.HDTV.x264-FTP
This one looks like Episode 3 is called "Natures Lost Kingdom"
Should be nuked as the name should actually be

    Wild.Burma.Natures.Lost.Kingdom.S01E03.HDTV.x264-FTP

    Then things would work.

At the moment SB is only seeing Wild Burma as the series name and discounts it.

    Thanks to DejaVu

Brilliant, thanks for getting to the bottom of this. I can rest easy now.
Having said that though i just mucked about with my settings in sab and SB and messed my download folders up. FFS. I've confused them both by asking the other to do the Post processing by the looks of it. LOL.
