Default Pleasantly surprised by eBay resolution centre

Not sure if this is now the norm but I found this to be a pleasant surprise:

We are contacting you in relation to a case that you recently filed in the Resolution Centre for the item: X, that you received but didn’t match the listing description. We see from your comments that you would like to return this item and get a refund for it.

In our experience, sellers normally find an amicable solution with the buyer in such cases, but it often leads to the question of who should pay for the return postage costs. To make things easier for both of you, we will assume the postage costs.

If the seller has accepted your request to return the item for a full refund in the Resolution Centre we will send you a pre-paid postage label in a separate e-mail that you can use to return the item.

If the seller doesn’t agree to the return, you can escalate the case after 8 days in the Resolution Centre. We will then review the case and if the item you received is not as described we will normally ask you to return the item and then issue a refund. If you do not escalate, your case will automatically close 30 days from when it was filed.

With the eBay Money Back Guarantee, we’ve got you covered.

    Best regards, The eBay Team
no doubt they have a deal like amazon had with the RM but now they are privatised I suppose the tax payer has been screwed over for the last time with the RM IPO!

It's either ebay footing the bill so the sale goes through (they win) or they will screw the seller for the fee's (they win)
Only in Britain….do we use the word “politics” to describe the process of Government. “Poli” in Latin meaning “many” and “tics” meaning “bloodsucking
    creatures”

If the item isn't as it was described then the seller is at fault, so he should foot the bill. Nice of eBay to do that though.
