    Advice Crypto currencies

I've been mining BTC for a bit but because my hardware is limited to around 2.5gh/s it isn't really worth it anymore so I'm looking into other up and coming currencies that I can use them on. Dogecoin seems popular and as it's new I should be able to get a good return on it. Anyone know of any others?

Unless you have free electricity then I don't think any coin is worth mining for profit right now, even with CPU only scripting or specialist ASIC hardware.

You would be better off investing the money you would spend and buy some coins of choice through an exchange.

I hold a small amount of BTC and keep up to date with the global bitcoin news and make a little more by selling as soon as badnews happens (panic ensues!) and then buy back when the prices have dropped.

The only way it would pay is to gamble on future prices and hope what you hold will be worth a lot more than todays prices. Even then, it's still cheaper to buy direct.

Luckily I have a HP Microserver that is always on. I'm running 3x Erupter sticks and 1x Antminer so very little electric usage. I finally got them running 24/7 on Ubuntu 12.04 and am mining a few different types of coins in rotation. It's interesting to see and mess with at the end of the day. Even if I make no money I'm not really worried but get some coins and you never know... other coins are starting to be worth a bit of money now too and it's always good to have your thumb in a few pies
