Your not alone goose!
im now 16.5 stone and have always been a stick right up until I got diagnosed with big C.
for some reason might be stress ? I started to put a massive amount of weight on.
i went from 10.5 stone to 14 in 12 months then creeped up from there, now sadly when I walk any distance I have to use a wheelchair or my crutches.
admittedly the steroid drugs don't help but I do eat enough that's for sure
if you don't want to have a heart attack in the near future I strongly suggest cutting down your intake and get some exercise before it's too late.
I wish i could. But for now I'm cutting down my meal sizes and drinking more water and eating more fruit.
good luck to you buddy.

I was on Steroids for 20 years. Although I have never been able to put weight on... The steroids do make you ravenous. I ate and ate and ate.

Porage for breakfast with dried ginger is excellent, as the ginger is good for circulation and the porage gives slow release carbohydrates for energy. Also try to avoid eating carbs after 6pm

I know what your saying and can relate.
I currently weigh 16 12 and that's the heaviest I have been.
I was 14 At the start of last year and things just slid.
Decided a few weeks back after chirimbo that I was going to go at it.
I've got an eating plan and am cycling to the next train station from my house to get to work and home again. It's 8 miles round trip and gets e going so far in the morning.
As for the gym look at local council ones. Me and the wife pay £21 a month and that gets us everything from classes to sauna and swimming etc. also we can use any o the council gyms as part of it too.

I've stopped eating after 5pm
Now. Still drink tea but reduced my sugar intake. I don't eat breakfast at sea as I just can't stomach it, for lunch I just have a cup of soup of whatever soup he makes and for dinner I have a meal, nothing fried. Usually salad and some meat and that's it for the day. We have a rowing machine onboard so starting tomorrow I'm going to do 30mins a day on it as I can use that in any weather unlike the treadmill.

right ive been at sea for 5 days now and to give you a bit of an update. (note that i work everyday 8-4, and every third day im the duty engineer - so extra responsibilities in the evening)
- havent eaten any bread (used to munch on sandwiches and have bread with my soup daily)
- breakfasts im eating an apple
- lunches now consist of a salad, with a little potato salad mixed in to give at least some flavour
i then finish at 4 and go straight to the gym, 2 days on, 1 day off (the duty day) and do 30 mins on the rowing machine. so far ive stuck to this and im pleased with myself.
Dinner is at 5, and usually consists of rice with veg (and a splash of gravy for flavour).
I dont eat after 5pm which im finding hard but ill get used to it.
In the evenings I have a hot chocolate - i only have 8 of these left so wont last me the last 2 weeks of the trip.
so far so good. :-)

Another update. Fell of the wagon at the weekend on 2 fronts.
1) Weather was hitting 100mph + winds and sea of 10m so the theory that you can use the rowing machine in any weather went out of the window - therefore I didnt do my 30mins on the rowing machine Saturday.
2) Ate at 9pm on Sunday night. Hands were literally shaking i was hungry. Went to get a small snack and found fuck all in the galley fridge bar cheesecake - ate 2 slices.
As punishment to myself today im upping my rowing machine workouts to 45mins all this week, and starting after work today. Lunch today was a massive portion of red, green and yellow peppers, spring onions and I also had a fresh sausage roll.
Dinner will be special fried rice and more veg and I wont eat after 5pm.
Motivated to get down to 14st overall. 15Stone by the time I get home on Feb 2nd.
You need to drink more fluids across the course of the day to help with the hunger. Not booze or sugar filled stuff ofcourse.

ill keep that in mind. fluids wise here is what i have for the day:
Morning 7.30AM: Cup of tea (2 sugars) - gets me going in the morning. All tea after this is one sugar
9.30AM - Cup of tea (1 sugar)
14:30 - Cup of tea (1 sugar)
19:00 - Hot Chocolate (no sugar)
When I exercise on the rowing machine about 16:00 I have 1 or 2, 500ml bottles of water.
So if I say replace the 9.30AM and 14:30 teas with 250-500ml each would that be enough? and say another 500ml in the evening?
too much sugar thats over half daily sugar intake, add foods and snacks and you will be taking in toou much , try get yourself down to half a sugar and full on in morn , make it more milky if needed
4-5 pints of water a day its hard if not used to drinking it but really does help with weight loss
CallmeGoose (12th January 2015)
Get yourself the Water your body app as it measures out what your intake should be and tells you when to drink.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ark.drinkwater
Try to wean yourself off the sugar completely, after a couple of days you won't notice the difference.
Skimmed milk if you have access to it and totally fuck that drinking chocolate off.

lifes no fun at all if you cant have 1 thing in a day which makes you happy. food and eating / drinking will be boring as shit then. surely there is a balance between eating what you like and losing weight?
Tomorrow I'm going to experiment with water only. 5 x 500ml bottles should do the trick. Besides from pissing every 2 mins I'll let you know how I get on

Hey,
You know you can actually kill yourself with water intoxication if you drink too much.. Be careful!
2.5 litres is no danger....!
When I had my kidney stone I regularly drunk 5L a day for over a year. Water intoxication is pretty hard to do.
