Having only really heard about Bitcoin this last year, I've kinda figured I've missed the boat on that one. There is a bit of talk with the lads about "lite coin" being the next big thing.

Has anyone any more detailed knowledge of Lite Coin at all?

My gut feeling is that we have missed the boat. Unless bitcoin is hacked, shut down, or totally devalued for some other reason, I doubt any of the others will take it's place soon.

The MTGox price has no reflection of the true value due to no-one having a way to get funds out of there. Check BTC-E or Bitstamp for a more accurate idea.

You could until very recently. They supposedly discovered a flaw in the protocol and locked everything down until it's fixed. Pretty much the entire userbase has called bullshit on it and that's why the price has tanked.
