    Default Haslar Hospital. (Urbex)

The Royal Haslar Hospital Gosport, aka The Impenetrable Fortress

Founded in the reign of King George I, the Royal Hospital Haslar in Gosport, Hampshire, was one of several hospitals serving the Portsmouth Urban Area, but had previously been the country's foremost – and ultimately last – military hospital. Its military status was withdrawn in 2007, and those military personnel remaining joined the Ministry of Defence Hospital Unit (MDHU Portsmouth) at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham, Portsmouth. In the summer of 2009, all remaining (civilian) medical services at Haslar were relocated to the Queen Alexandra Hospital, and the site was subsequently sold.

great pics, surely that equipment could be put to use in an other hospital?
Only in Britain….do we use the word “politics” to describe the process of Government. “Poli” in Latin meaning “many” and “tics” meaning “bloodsucking
    creatures”

Agreed, what a waste of expensive kit! I guess hospitals already have all the kit then need, what the NHS is really missing is proper funding.

That stuff should be on its way to the 3rd world/Developing country but I'm sure some jobsworth cunt prefers to see it rotting away in an abandoned building.

I was thinking the same thing about the equipment, a CT scanner cost millions!!!..

or we could all get our arses down there and borrow it

Agree with other comments. So much waste going on there it's criminal. To me, it highlights the fact the NHS etc. have too many people involved at a purchasing level of equipment from manufacturers for their own ends. You could even scale this up to include a lot of other public funded services.

When I worked in I.T, I seen so much perfectly good equipment in council offices etc. get binned and replaced with new gear as a matter of course rather than practicality.

You should send the equipment pics to the press... it is shocking that it has been abandoned

Any tales of getting in Peter? Is it secured/guarded heavily?
I'm wondering if there were plans for the equipment and they were perhaps just being stored initially.
    Seems a dreadful waste.
