Help dog friendly walking holidays - ambleside area

Have any of youguys done this kind of thing before??

We'd like to go for a few days walking around ambleside with the pooch.
I found a b&b that is in the centre of ambleside, but using google maps with their postcode to say windermere, gives me a walk following a B road each time. I want hills and scenery, not tarmac.

any recommendations / tips would be appreciated.

You are spoilt for choice round the lake district really depends on how far you want to walk - there are loads of websites dedicated to walking in the Lakes if you have a hunt around also depends if you are willing to drive out from Ambleside try here http://where2walk.co.uk/area-informa...ere-ambleside/

    Thanks to prezzy

    Gotta be Ambleside?

I stayed in a farm next to wastwater called bowderdale farm. Apart from the fantastic pub at wasdale, a 15 min walk away all there is there is stunning scenery & fantastic walks.

We spend quite a bit of time in the lakes (Motorhoming) with our Dog. Whilst Ambleside is a great place, my favourite spot with the Dog would be Keswick. There are some great walks (up to Castlerigg, Latrigg, Cats Bells, Fitz Park / Hope Park, Lodore Falls, etc). Also, the most Dog friendly pub you are ever likely to come across in the "Dog & Gun" (highly recommend the Hungarian Goulash). I think most of the other Pubs allow well behaved Dogs.

If you do stick with Ambleside some nice walks to Grassmere, Rydal, Loughrigg Fell, Stock Ghyl Falls, etc. Not many Pubs but I think the White Lion is Dog friendly, I know the Royal Oak is (there is a lovely pub on the lake called the Waters Edge Inn but you may need to stay outside with the Dog there). If you do the walk to Rydal or Grasmere stop off at the Badgers Inn for a nice real ale.

    Best of luck.

We stayed in Bromyard in a really reasonably priced one bed cottage. Lovely walks all over the place especially if you have a car to drive out a few extra miles.

The Brackenrigg Inn, ullswater. Great place to stay and dogs welcome, we stayed over Christmas and can highly recommend it.

got myself and the missus and the dog booked at ambleside for july.
then there are 8 of us going to keswick area in august for some more walking.

the more i've looked into places to go and things to see out there, the more i want to go.
So I'm going twice this summer.
