    Default I want a lightsabre!!!

Is there any software that will allow me to add lightsabres to a video?

Kids are getting into gif creators, facial animation stuff and it would be cool if we could do something with sabres!!! Nothing too advanced as i am hoping the kids will be able to messa bout adding effects to other videos too.

Also, don't mind pricing as i know some places to look for the software.

    Ta!

that is pretty cool and interesting, but that looks a lot of work as it doesn't do motion tracking ie you have to edit each frame!!

its not going to be an easy job, no quick fix for that type of thing, its done frame by frame & lots of frame even in a very short 30 second clip.

Never say never. Not sure how good it is - http://en.kioskea.net/download/download-15123-lsmaker
Frae by Frame, but simplifies the process.

I guess it's a bit like standard cartoon type animation (which I used to do years ago) and that it's based around frame by frame editing. You can take 'shortcuts' to some extent and depending on the frame rate used, software used and processing power. You could in effect, run a, say, 30 FPS film and edit something like a light sabre effect into it at 15 fps... the eye can have a habit of 'compensating' the visual effect to make it look actually smoother and more realistic than it really is.

    Thanks to burner1
