    Default Skybox question

Hoping one of you kind folks will help me out:

Thinking of ditching Sky and getting an F5s. Just got a couple of questions.

    1. Can you record a channel whilst watching another (e.g. record bbc1 but watch itv). I know you need a hard drive to record but I can't find out if it lets you record and watch. If not is there a similar box that will do that and is able to do the same "stuff" as the Skybox.
    2. Can someone PM me regarding where best to get one please? Finding out there are a load of dodgy clones out there.

    Thanks in advance

These boxes only have one LNB input so recording of another channel whilst watching a different one isnt possible.

Get a Vu+ Duo if you want that functionality (I would recommend them anyway).

Concerning suppliers of F5 I have no idea - perhaps someone else will be able to help.

Generally speaking, if the two channels are on the same transponder you should be able to record one and watch the other, even with a single LNB. It all depends on the hardware and firmware revision, though. But technically it is possible.

Even though its possible its not very practical is it and we all know what he meant!

    Hi,

I'm a noob when it comes to all these skyboxes etc but I have had enough of Murdoch pulling my pants down for the last 5 years and am well up for giving it back to him for once.... Thing is, I'm looking on ebay and I'm not really sure what I'm looking at. I understand that some offer the 'gift' for 12 months, but what's to say it only lasts a month??!?!?

Could really do with some decent advice if poss? I have the capability to put a file on a USB and then plug it into a slot, put a IP address into a DMZ on a router but I sure as shite can't write C++ or anything like that soo really just want to know what I'm dealing with.

My names Sellsey and I'm new on here..... No I'm not a leech, old bill, sky bod, troll etc etc but I can be a mouthy c*nt if antagonised!!!
