    Default Scottish Power

Energy companies really do take the piss. I am £500 in credit with Scottish Power and it is increasing all the time. I have been trying for 2 months now to get the money refunded. For the first month they ignored my request and when it finally came through, apparently the meter reading wasn't within the allotted time (because they took so long to reply...!) and I needed to provide a new reading. I did this and requested again. A week passed and I get a notice that due to a system update they are currently unable to refund my money and will do so as soon as they can. A week passes and a new bill goes out, I am then further in credit. I receive an email asking whether I want the extra money refunded. I reply that I do. Another week passes and I am given the same - System update issue, unable to process refund message.

They are taking the piss. They have a week to provide my refund or I am complaining to the Ombudsman. I have all the emails they have sent, including the notification of my request 2 months ago. I may even switch energy companies. Not that it would bother them much, I assume.

I'm with Npower. Over £400 in credit and this month our monthly payment increased by £40 ... why not just take it off the fucking credit. Arseholes.

Just checked my current SP account balance!

Last bill was Sept. Joined them April last year, moving from EDF for a slightly better deal at the time. First bill arrived in June and the payment roughly doubled to £166pm.

    Dual Fuel

    Online Energy Saver 21 Offer

    Account balance

    £733.46- Credit

    Next bill date

    09 December 2013

I know it'll come back and bite me but until they ask for a reading I'll keep up with the payments. I do try to keep an eye on the market and look to change whenever 'the best' deal comes around. Trouble is they're all the same nowadays.

I want my money in my savings account, even if the return is only 3%. It's the principle.

I got fed up with Scottish Power and moved to Co-op. One tariff and good customer service, even if they weren't the cheapest I'd be loathed to move way
