Default Opening a business page on Facebook, is Paypal safe for orders?

I've just started selling photo engraved jewellery and gifts. I've started advertising on Facebook on the local buy/sell pages and a lot of people want things delivered, but for many it's too far for me to travel. In the past i've just used ebay, but i'm wondering if receiving payment via Paypal is safe or not? I know you can get money reversed etc but i've only really ever used it through ebay.

Ideally i'd like people to buy the items, use Paypal to pay and then I send the item out by post. I just don't want people receiving the item then reversing the transaction.

    Any tips etc?

I'm sure there's a few on here with first had experience, but in my small experience as a heavy ebay seller for a short period, I would say contact paypal, or atleast read their terms inside out before you venture into it.
My personal account was put under suspicion when I began receiving 30 - 50 payments a week and they just froze it, no warning, no phone number to call, no fuck all. I had to jump through hoops to get access to my account again and while searching for help to my problem I found lots of other people who were suffering massive losses to their business due to similar issues.
I fully understand why my account was frozen, but for many other people it seemed to be almost random.

Personally I would try and offer alternatives to paypal, even if paypal is required these days.

Bank transfer is the best option = no automatic bs refunds

More harm than good, even if I see something I liked if BT is the only payment method I am going elsewhere.

Use paypal for the payments but send them an invoice from within paypal detailing what was bought and cost of postage and make sure you send the items at minimum recorded delivery but I would be inclined to use special delivery.

Dont keep no more than £100 in there either for the reasons {{909}} says above, happens to 1000s of people, some have gone out of business (big business with big turnover) because paypal have held their funds for more than 180days.

Is google checkout still going? Might be a viable option, big recognisable brand so people would be happy to use.

I've just looked at Google Checkout, they retired it on November 20th last year

Paypal seems like the only alternative then, I've never done bank transfers before and I know a lot of people who don't like BT's so I'm not sure about that

Amazon have a payment service. Never used it before, but might be worth a look.

Thanks mate, i'll have a look.

Talking of Amazon, I was going to start selling on there too someone said it's cheaper than ebay. From what I can see, they charge 25% fees for jewellery... wtf?!
