Had a onshore work course to do this week, only 2 days

Seriously think if I had a 9-5 job I would've blew my brains out a long time ago. Don't know how you lot do it

Wasn't it not long ago you were saying that was just what you wanted though, being tired of being on a ship all the time?

I don't like the idea of set time/structured hours either. My working hours are so flexible I have to pinch myself sometimes. There's only two days out of a week I'm on strict start/finish times, the rest I do what I want. It pisses everybody off.

Yeah think I might stay ashore now. Na all seriousness... From Norwich to Lowestoft is a right depressing commute, especially in this weather. The urge to drive into oncoming traffic was tempting! Haha

Ah, commute is another thing. Fortunately mine's only about 45mins but I hate public transport as much as anyone. Cycle To Work scheme starts at ours this month - looking forward to making the commute a bit more fun.

If you worked 9-5, you would soon get that alarm time setting down to about 8, 8-30.

I work 8x4 everyday so earlier than the 9x5 grind, up at 7 15, out by 7.30. In work for 7 45, start work at 8. Home by 4.15. It's decent like.

Know how you feel Goose, before I left the Uk I was working 8 till 6, 5 days a week, some times a few extra hours here n there too. I know work 23 hours, mainly at the weekend with almost 5 full days off. I cant see me coming back to the UK any time soon

Incidentally:
8-4:30 and 8-1 on a Friday. Leave at 7am for an 8am start after a half mile walk. Hate the journey really fucking hate it.

irrespective of the daily grind, we at least are able to come home and spend time with our loved ones. I couldn't do your job, away from home for extended periods, bunking with a load of blokes etc. Fuck that.

I work what the job requires. But if I am constantly working long hours I require some form of reimbursement for my time. Otherwise, I am a mug!
