I'm after some advice , your experiences of quality restaurants in ambleside.
I was going to book a table ata place called rothay manor, but tripadvisor reviews are very mixed.
are there any that you can recommend for the food??

lenclume in Grange over Sands - about a 40 minute drive but one of the best restaurants in the country, been twice this year excellent
Love the mortal man in troutbeck. Brilliant restaurant and pub.

Avoid the White Lion Hotel, although it was a couple of years since we went it was terrible. Probably the worst service I've ever had, check tripadvisor, seems I'm not the only one either.

Hole in the wall was a frequent stop off when i was out water skiing

but my Fav has to be the wild boar inn just outside bowness. they do hog roasts
