cant print in win 7 64 bit from ie and live mail.

Got a new pc for work, win7 64bit, HP if it makes any difference, it won't let me print from ie11 and windows live mail, chrome is ok and pdf documents in ie print fine too, Done a bit of digging and then suggest run ie as administrator to print. Doesn't work with this, Pop up box says "there was an internal error, and internet explorer was unable to print this document". On mail nothing happens no pop up boxes or anything moved to the print queue.

Any ideas what to check next ?

Obviously some poxy setting somewhere.

EDIT:- If I press print direct on ie in the tool bar nothing happens, if i go print preview and then print, thats when the box pops up with the error.

Might sound stupid/obvious but check the printer device, I only say this as I wasted stupid time when I changed to my new machine and networked the old one and under one device it set the network as default but not in Chrome etc.

have you uninstalled and re-installed the printer?
How about re-setting Ie? > Internet options / advanced / reset

Internet Explorer, click Tools - Internet Options - Advanced Tab,
Under Settings, do not check "Enable third-party browser extensions*", then Apply and OK. Restart the IE, check if it can print.

Removing the HP Smart Web Printing software. It appears to be a problem with compatability issues with Windows 7 (64 bit), Internet Explorel 9 (64 bit) and HP printer software.

This might sound obvious also but do you have the latest drivers installed? One version down could be enough to throw things of for one application to another. Just a thought... Printer Driver, USB controller drivers or whatever else you are using to connect with.

If the problem persists post here and I will ask my IE office guru.

A third printer driver re-install after doing the above seems to have fixed it.

I use the above free program to look for old or missing drivers. I never allow the program to look for the driver, instead I note what is missing and go find it myself. It can be hit and miss for Toshiba laptops for some reason? Otherwise it is quite good. Watch the crappy adware it tries to install; including the dreaded myseach/conduit shite.

I remember working for a company that had to ditch loads of fairly expensive printers when Win7 came out because the manufacturers decided not to bother releasing newer drivers.
