    Default Sculptures and Umbrellas

Another go at the splashes. This time using a solution of water, xantham gum in the container holding the water and then a similar solution in a Whisky snifter and 2 drops of rinse aid.

Light source is two flash units off camera behind an A3 sheet of opal perspex. Colours provided by a mixture of 2 - 3 gels

Also, I can see the glass is a little messy with solution on the side. I'll remember to wipe it in between shots next time

This one I've called "The Skier" due to the figure like shape facing left at the top.

This one I'm calling "Derp the Alien" (I also need to do a square format crop of this one later)

    Cheers guys.

Supe, I have the Splash Art II kit by Photorigger.

It connects to the camera via the remote shutter port. The box controls the delay to which the camera shutter releases, the size of the first drop, delay in between it and the second drop and the size of the third drop. It's a little bit of trial and error to start with getting the droplet size and delay timings correct but once they're on, you can pretty much hit a collision every single time. Adjusting the droplet sizes etc. can result in different shapes etc. Also the ratio of xantham gum mix to water etc. impacts the droplet types etc.

Behind the opal perspex sheet I have in this pic, were two flash guns with different coloured gels on them.

Cheers Paul, I should think that all I can do from here is improve. I have some rather creative ideas I wish to work on as I go along
