I am a postman, but currently in management training. I'm not sure if this is a good thing.

i work in the shop at lot of you like currys lol been there four months now and its an eye opener
Well a lot knew that I was a facilities manager for a local Gov.
They decided I was no longer needed.
(The place was in a mess 7 years before I got post) which I turned around.
I went into the 7 months redundancy scheme at work, where I had to find a job. I was matched for a few posts in my pay scale but nothing came of it. I had just got my 3 month notice of redundancy from the council for26 years loyal service when I got a trial which I did off my own back as a Highways Investigator. Well the trial went great and I am now confirmed in post as of this Monday coming. This is a promotion and the job is permanent.
4 Months ago both me and my partner were looking over the abyss. She had gone through a similar re-structure at her work. Things looked bleak for both of us. But she has got a new job also working in County Hall which she is really enjoying.
Pictures of my old office are in my profile. I can’t show you my new office as its “open plan”. Would love to show you the photos I take of the accidents but as you know data protection and all that LOL.

work for an engineering company in fluid conveyance but most of my work is for the oil and gas industry so supplying distributors the components to make up assemblies to source oil
Left school on a wednesday, Joined The Parachute Regiment (I Para) on the friday, 8 or 9 years of jumping out of perfectly good C130's and then gave that up as kids came along, took what money I had back then and set up my own small building company which is what I still do now, im a qualified plasterer and do lots of joinery also. Cant beat the self employed construction game really as there is all the freedom you want, as someone has already mentioned money has declined a bit in the trades work but theres still plenty out there if your rep for quality work is good.
I work as an Aircraft Engineer been doing it a long time,no ambition so still get the overalls ripped, torn, and very dirty.....
Worked in IT for about five years, completed my A+ and got my MCP then into IT Service Management got my PRINCE2 then supported a project in HR - got a taste for the money in HR and changed to that.
Been at it for 5 years now, best decision I made in my life.

I work for a large telecoms company that is British. Been there since I was 19 more or less and I'm 37 now. Currently I design and support large IT systems including cloud infrastructures and web security/hosting. It's a decent job and I get to play with lots of new tech

Got my C&G 236 when I was 17 and with the exception of the odd holiday courtesy of Her Majesty I've been a sparks most of my life (as was my father and grandfather).
Haven't worked since Jan 2011 due to fighting the Big C (the bastard has come back twice more since treatment first started), but here's a pic of me at work with Nick Knowles on DIY SOS just before my first lot of treatment started.
