    Help Plex Problems

    Hey fellas

Got my plex media server all set up and working well to every device I had tried in the house or so I thought.

Been tinkering about with it all and was looking good started to sort folders out etc with couch potato. However when I am outside the house and try to access it via my Ipad or Iphone using the plex apps I cant find my media at all.

Any help would be great as Im starting to get a little annoyed to say the least. I reckon its just something simple as it was working a while ago and now stopped.

    Again any help appreciated

Have you port forwarded on your router ? I think plex is 32400

There are problems using Port 32400 with Plex lately. I'm currently using 6190 for mine. Works perfectly.

    Default Plex Problems

Think it's actually my hardware that's causing the problem.
It's an old intel core duo mac book. The latest server pack requires core 2 duo and mine is just being an arse I think.

Will have a tinker and see what happens.

If it is port forwarding that's pretty easy is it not??

Yeah port forwarding would just be setting your router to pass the traffic on the Plex server port to the IP of your plex server. Some routers make it easier to do than others.

I know of some that are using a NAS as a server and its working perfectly.
Check through the settings again, if you're still having issues, ping me a PM and I'll give you a hand.

The Core 2 Duo is a guideline more than a requirement.

YES! Glad you said that. My clients keep dropping off of it too.
Sharing seems to carry on working though.

I've not noticed any updates I've not changed my setup. Sharing on local network continues.
I use xbmc in the main, only installed it to get the daughters films and TV at my mothers on the cheap using a now TV box.

I'm using OpenElec PHT and both mine keep re-logging back in. Doing my nut in.
Anyone else having this happen lately? Only over the last 2 days I guess.

No re-logging back in issues here.

I just find connecting over 3G to my Lumia 920 a real pain in the arse, takes ages to stream and I have a C2D and an 20MB upload.

In the house no issues at all, just on 3G. Port 32400 forwarded fine. Might try 6190 like DejaVu says.

Only in the last couple of days I've noticed that my local content - Films, Music and TV Shows all disappear from the main menu at random intervals and especially when going back to the menu from viewing something . Only thing thats changed recently is moving from Sickbeard to NZBDrone. Think it might be a library update thing. Need to check settings.

aha me too, last night one of my NowTV's lost all it's content view, I rebooted and it all reappeared but I could get into nothing. So I uninstalled then reinstalled, fine at first then again I couldn't;t get into anything, so I did a total factory reset which seemed to cure it....for how long? My other two boxes seem fine...for now?

Been having a lot of problems with my client dropping off as well. Did changing the mapped port from 32400 help ?

Issues here also. No NowTV boxes used, it is all done over the Web or through Smart TV apps. Just tried and it had dropped off again!!
Remoted into my server (Mac Mini) and restarted. All back but then it is pausing 20 seconds into a show.

Trying from work now, doing an update and my NSA310 has gone offline.

Seems to be related as since I have turned Plex on this has been happening a lot.... I am worried the drive in the 310 is going but why would the whole thing go down..

    Doing some more digging
