iphone and sideways video ( annoying!)

Guys

I shot a load of video of my eldest at his first music gig in his band with iphone 5s in portait. sound quality and picture a re great.
but when I come to watch it on laptop, the video is now sideways on..

as there is no function to rotate in media player, can anyone recommend a free way to raote it counter clockwise, so I dont get neck ache from watching it back again?

Phones should be built with a warning that stops you taking portrait video!

We have loads of really nice video of our son, all in bl**dy portrait despite me continuosly telling the missus to rotate her phone!

A friend of mine had this issue with her sons first boxing match, I used windows movie maker to sort if out for her

Lol, they don't care my missus is the same, there really should be a warning, not a warning of portrait mode but a warning of if your a female turn the phone SIDEWAYS!

I did see an app on BBC Click that stopped this by making all video landscape but unfortunately I can not find the link at the moment.

It's a pet hate with me, when ever I see Mrs or the eldest taking video or pics in portrait I shout "landscape" muppet.

There's even a tweak for this in cydia which displays a warning message when the phone is on vertical video mode!
