Does anyone really think this is going to be worth watching. The imdb score is misleading if you read the comments on there !

My feeling is that this iteration of the vampire genre has run its course? It's all about zombies at the moment!

I watched this last night on Netflix. It's basically a carbon copy of the first 30 minutes of the film. That isn't to say it's bad. I actually really liked it. It's beautifully shot and directed. I didn't realise only the Pilot was available as I wouldn't have bothered. I am looking forward to seeing more.

    Thanks to Geko

Just finished watching first episode and gotta say I really enjoyed it.
Yes I was a huge fan of the film(s) (ok apart from the first they were only for fans)

Thought acting was fair to good.... disagreed massively with the negative imdb review that shows up.... it repeats about 4 minutes as flashbacks imho
Good characters... you do have to get past the actor playing Richie (Quentin Tarantino in the film) being the double of Ewan Mcgregor

Found it well worth watching and waiting for episode 2

Excellent. Heard it was coming but did not realise it was out.

Love this movie and brings back memories of good times around it. Happy days
I do own the other movies for my sins too. Robert Patrick, Legend!

Even though it makes me feel nauseous to admit it, I agree with macdaddy. I really enjoyed it too. I love the film, the part with Salma Hayek as Santanico Pandemonium is about the sexiest scene I've ever seen on screen, and that includes Bella Emberg as Blunderwoman on the Russ Abbott Show.

The acting was a bit over the top and the bloke who plays Seth is trying too hard to play it exactly the same as Clooney did, even down to the way he moves his head. Having said that, it was a solid start and I'm looking forward to seeing more.

    Spoiler:

    Bella Emberg........

    Or Salma Hayek? You decide

You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

Yeah. I agree with that. He is Fez from the 70s Show. Wilmer Valderrama, or whatever he is called.

As for Richie. I think he's an improvement on Tarantino. As would anyone be.

Edit - It wasn't Wilmer Valderrama. I've just watched the second episode. It's the guy from "Detroit 187", if anyone watched that?

I take back everything I said in my first post. I've attempted to watch episode 2 and it's a complete and utter mess. It jumps around all over the place, attempting to introduce far too many new characters and plot lines.

    Spoiler:
The writers have fucked the script good and proper too. Richie now seems to be some physic psychopath with a magic knife. Seth managed to open a huge fucking vault with what looked like a cordless black and decker drill and the vampire scene actually made me laugh out loud. Who writes this shit? The acting has also gone from fair to diabolical.

I've never seen a show turn to shit so quickly. Amazing.

I was just about to post the same thing.

There was also a complete lack of chemistry between the Geckos. I criticised Tarantino's acting... But... He is Daniel Day Lewis compared to the new Richie.
