    Default Comfy bike saddle?

Went for a 20 mile bike ride today around Norwich, and I swear to god my arse was in tatters after it, red raw. Let the hilarity ensue.

Only got the bike 3 days ago and I want to change the saddle that came with it.

Are there any seats/saddle designed for comfort in mind? Im off to do a quick google search for bike saddles for fat arses.... Wouldnt say im fat though, but not skinny....

Every now and again Lidl or Aldi have some comfy bike saddles in store. Got a Lidl one on on my bike now and is reasonably comfortable. The secret is also to sit a bit further back on the saddle which is something most people don't do. I find it makes a big difference. (">

I got a pair a while back on ebay for under £10 I think

I've used one of these in the past, perfect for those with wider arsed, and a ball sack that gets in the way.

I always find that the more you ride the tougher your arse gets. It's not nice though chaffing like that. Put Vaseline on before a ride till you get used to it.

I always ride narrow saddles and never have issues. Make sure the tilt is right so when you sit on it the only bit that is supported are your ass bones. I always have comments like how can you sit on that, etc, but works a charm. Current is a Selle Italia Flite titanium. Have used Charge Spoons and a few others but the Flite is my fave and has a nice gap to save the perineum.

I only learnt to ride a few years ago when I got into the land of rice and I couldn't ride for more than 20 minutes without needing to sit on something flat, over time I learnt to sit better and I think your arse muscles must develop to make it more comfortable as I rarely had any pain now.

I was considering getting a bigger padded seat at the time, but now I think it would have been a bad choice.

Wide seats are bad for men. All about getting your sit bones in the right place.

Don't know about wide seats being bad for men but as I said earlier I found that if I sit further back it makes a lot of difference. Men tend to sit further forward for ball clearance but if that's a problem tilting the seat will help. (">

Think I'll try the Madison one above, combined with some padded shorts

The Madison AND padded shorts! With such a soft delicate arse why don't you just skip the intermediate steps and opt for one of these in the first place. (">

i thought small seats were also bad for men? Certain pairs of jeans cause me to juggle my balls when cycling, if you know what I mean.
