Default XBOX ONE - Price drop £399 from Friday - Titanfall bundle

Xbox One price cut to £399.99 with free copy of Titanfall

Microsoft has slashed the price of the Xbox One in the UK by £30, as a new Titanfall bundle is announced for this Friday.
The price cut will come into effect on Friday, February 28 and is permanent, although the free copy of Titanfall is only while stock lasts (and obviously won’t be available to download until the game is released on March 14).
You can pre-order the Titanfall bundle now, by visiting the official Xbox website here. However, this isn’t the special edition Titanfall console that was leaked about last month and which still hasn’t been confirmed.
You do get some special edition Titanfall packaging though, along with a Kinect sensor, standard Xbox One wireless controller, standard Xbox One Chat Headset, one month of Xbox Live Gold membership, and a digital copy of Titanfall.
Although the Titanfall deal is worldwide the price cut is only for the UK, where the PlayStation 4 has been outselling the Xbox One at what’s believed to be a ratio of 2:1.But even with this new price drop the PlayStation 4 is still £50 cheaper, at £349.99.
Since the UK is the Xbox 360′s second biggest market, after the US, that’s certainly not a situation Microsoft will be happy with, and so we got to discuss the price cut, and the Xbox One’s upcoming line-up, with UK marketing director Harvey Eagle.

Probably to rekindle some interest the launch titles were pretty thin on the ground, I've had mine since launch had it on probably a dozen times, dead rising and battlefield are excellent, forza doesn't have enough tracks and cod has had its day....

I know it's only £30 but being under £400 makes it sound so much cheaper for some reason !

Amazon have the PS4 with Second Son on pre-order for £389.99 which is still £10 less. I am sure the fanbois will argue that the Kinect is not worth the £10 extra

Both systems still priced too high for me. Bring it to near £200 and I might be interested.

I don't see why that is a big ask to be honest. The machines are just (cheap) chips and plastic, nothing different to when previous consoles have come out. But it is the 'experience' that makes them what they are and they try to sell. This however costs money for a membership you have to have in order to use...

So the pulling of wool over the eyes here is making a lot of people blind to the fact. Early adopters always get fleeced. When $ky HD first came out I purchased one of the boxes from them direct so I could take advantage of my new £3000 Pioneer Plasma. I paid about £400 for that box... How much are they now... Free.

So, in 6 months time when the are £200 I will buy one

Games and services. I am still paying/buying Xbox Live for my 360 yet I have not turned the thing on (other than to get the Games with Gold) to play for many months!
The money I have invested in them services make it difficult to get rid.. The same as why I will be sticking with Apple for my phones for the foreseeable. I have spent a fortune on apps etc.. It does not make sense to switch to Android. Once they suck you in, which in the case of the Xbox One it will not happen until they are £200

I have set a calendar reminder to check the price in 6 months time so I can come back and tell you all I told you so!!

OK realistically it will be August... I think the price decreases will be due October/November time and it will be touching on £300 as they get ready for Xmas. I will still be waiting for the £200 price tag though!
By that time the Xbox One will have no physical drive and no bundled Kinect where as the PS4 will be 'Slim' and come bundled with it's camera!

All of these companies are still missing a trick... Bundle 2 pads in FFS!!

Consoles are sold as lost losers costing more to make than they sell for pretty much like the razor market where you can get a new razor very cheaply to get you onto their brand and then the blades are expensive.

The Bugatti Veyron is only metal and carbon fibre but it sells for £800,000 but cost nearer £3mil to make.

The cost of R&D yes, not the cost of the components. Also factor in the diminishing costs to produce over time..

Maybe these companies should apply for tax breaks....

I nearly bought one in CostCo last night - they were 430 something for the Fifa bundle - I'd have been gutted if I'd gone ahead and done it!
