    Help Sky Hard Drive Contents

    Hi Guys

My work college has asked if it's possible to access sky content from a sky STB hard drive to back up to a PC for viewing/copy to DVD

She has a new skybox and also has the old drive from old skybox.

The reason she asks is because the drive contains footage from a sports channel of a relative of hers winning some sort of motorsport
event. But this relative has sine been killed in a motor bike accident.

I understand from a look around internet that the data may be stored in a encrypted format on the drive and can only be decrypted
    with a valid viewing card.

I was wondering if there was a way to transplant this drive into a subbed sky box to then grab a copy of said footage

    Any help/advice greatly appreciated

    Thanks

    furrry

Not sure if it still works but you could try copy plus

    http://www.skycopyplus.co.uk/

Alternatively ask her what event it was and see if it's available to download anywhere.

I didn't think it was possible and if you struggle with those suggestions, try feeding the HDMI from the Sky Box through a DVD Recorder.

It's possible with FTA channels, I made a YouTube video showing you how.

Only FTA channels are accessible off a Sky+ HD via PH-MB!

Now a linux box of course is totally different as its decrypted before recording

    THanks

It looks i have a couple options

    1. If it's FTA contents i can use copy+ to move it to PC
    2. Using Extract+ i can possible initialise the drive for use in another Sky+ box and play back the content to a dvd recorder or similar

I hope this works because the owner is desperate to keep this content of her deceased loved one

@brydo is you youtube video still online do you have a link

    thanks

    Hi

    Thanks for that

I have the drive and viewed its contents. The content i want is on Motors TV So it's encrypted.

I guess i will need to set it up in a 2nd sky box to get the stuff off

    Thanks again
