Default stuff I want for the bike

right want to improve the look/comfort etc of my bike so i'm after a few bits

    1 : a green chain
2: green brake cables (do these have to be custom made)?
3: gel seat and padded shorts
    4: an action camera
    5: cycling gloves
6: two way radio headset for me and the missus as she often cycles ahead while im taking photos

and basically anything else I can personalise my ride with :-)

any suggestions on the above? where and what to buy?

    cheers lads

Forget the chain they rot quickly coloured ones. Jagwire do coloured cables as I have orange ones on one f my bikes. Camera go for a GoPro. Motorola do good radios. Gloves I use RaceFace or 661 as they fit me best.

As far as personalisation goes what do you want to personalise? For me upgrading parts that you know will wear out quick is the key and what drives most of my purchases or replacing thinsgs that don't perform in the way you want so things like shimano gears when you prefer SRAM.

well the bike has some green decals and I want to personalise it a bit more by adding more colour. Green would be best I reckon.

My main issue with the ride is comfort so the wider gel seat is priority number1

Do the go pro cams do timelapse?

To be honest with you I'd just get the shorts for now. And then get the seat if you're still struggling.
Most people tend to 'harden up' the more they ride. It could also be the way you're sat.
I find it more comfortable if I'm further back on the wider part of the seat.
Ooh, ooh, ooh, the funky gibbon.

You're not likely to get a green chain on anything but a single speed. I'm not sure what bike you've got, but it's a bit gimmicky imho.
And don't go for a wider padded saddle, that'll just increase the area of skin that can rub on the saddle and will end up being more uncomfortable on any rides over a few miles. As funkyg said, get some padded shorts and just wait for your ass to toughen up.

Found this one for you. Just the chain to replace:

Your arse will get used to the saddle after a few more rides so don't bother. Padded shorts or under-shorts are what you need. Gloves are a good idea but go for a decent pair, the cheap Dunlops from Sports Direct will fall apart after a couple of months hard riding.

I wouldn't waste money on a Go Pro, you're not a stunt rider so your videos will only be interesting to your mum and even she'll get bored after a few minutes footage. Time-lapse will look weird too as you're constantly moving.

Stick with the basic stuff for now to see if you're in it for the long run. You might get bored with bikes after a couple months until your next toy comes along.

    Thanks to cyprus

well so far im not getting bored. as i said ive combined with bike with my love of photography so im not actively looking for places further afield to photograph and explore, to the point ive purchased a bike rack for the car.

i agree with the go-pro, bad idea. And I also agree with the saddles, my arse is starting to get used to it. Padded shorts all the way.

As for the green. Bike chain is a no no. Ive settled for some subtle green skewers, bottle holder and some green gear cables. Want to make the bike "mine" so to speak.
