Default Chinese Ebay Sellers Are GOOD GUYS "There happy now" :)

Purchased an item from Ebay and a few days later it went faulty so contacted the seller for advise and they responded with......

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

In this situation, would you please take it to repair in a local shop? And we can cover part of the repair fee for you. Is that ok? Because if you return this radio to us the return shipping fee will be very high and it will take a long time too. So it would be the best option if you can fix the internal speaker mic locally.

Thanks for your understanding, and if you need additional information from us please let us know as soon as possible.

    Kind regards,

    1) Its a bloody satellite meter not a radio.
    2) The barrel connector from the meter is faulty not the speaker.

And the cheek to ask me to get it repaired and only offer a "part of the repair cost" I don't think so.

Stuck a claim into Paypal for a partial refund as its only fair, the meter works its just the connector is faulty.

I've got to admit I've bought a lot of stuff from Korea, China and Japan over the years and have only ever had two problems.

One was many, many years ago when I used to buy VCDs / silvers from China before the days of broadband and basically I placed a large order which never arrived. I logged a claim via Paypal and they waited I think six weeks to hear from the seller and eventually refunded my money. Literally 8 months later a large box arrived - I tried to get hold of the seller to send the money back but the Paypal account had been closed down along with the website. No idea what happened there.

The other one was when i bought a VAGCOM / VCDS 11.11.2 cable from Alibaba. It turned up and basically was an older cable that didn't work for more than 5 seconds without getting erased with the software they provided. I logged a claim and they disputed it, but thanks to the screenshots I sent showing the problem I got half my money back. They said I was flat out lying even though their feedback showed they'd had loads of customers with the same problem. I got half the money back but got proper negative feedback from them saying I was dishonest! The cable ended up in the bin as it was garbage!

Ok the heading might be a bit harsh but what Im getting at is Ebay state that all sellers MUST provide a warranty for all goods sold and for a seller to say to me get it repaired and we'll cover a partial refund is a joke, that's what I'm getting at.

If they advertised as UK stock from a UK address why cant it be sent back there for repair or refund simples not state that it would be expensive to send back to them which I presume would be China.

I have bought from China without any problems but I do always think twice about it. Not because of any mistrust but simply because of the extra hassle and cost of sending something back. I do agree they should not be allowed to state they are in the UK if they are not because that is misleading people who would rather pay a bit extra and buy from the UK to make life easier. (">

I've bought lens filters and other bits from Chinese sellers, and apart from waiting ages for delivery not had any problems, having said that I wouldn't buy anything expensive 20 quid is probably my max

Yeah, that's the item location not the seller. This is how overseas sellers can list as in the UK.
    Minefield.

I've bought from Chinese sellers where the item is in the UK but it's arrived with airmail stickers on it and any seller with thousands of feedback and a dubious name like that is always going to be a bit of a risk so worth delving a bit IMO.
I've always done ok, but then only ever bought bits of camera gear like filters and whatnot. Personally I wouldn't risk more than 20-30 quid with a overseas mass-seller.

Never had a problem with Chinese sellers. Whenever an item failed to turn up they have always sent a replacement, same with broken ones.

It is the UK tossers I am having trouble with. Saving 35p or whatever the reserve price is and pulling the auction at the last minute because it is not going their way.

That sounds awful, why not post the information unless you think you have already done so here and don't want to harp on about it

Lol. Sorry to bring this up again. I know it's frustrating that they do that but just thought I would add your comment from the other thread to remind you before you say any more about these tossers. (">

We all do it at some time or other. I do it usually when driving. Someone will do something like pulling out causing me to brake or not using indicators when they really should. I call them all sorts under my breath and guaranteed within a couple of days my girlfriend will point out that I have just done the exact same thing. I can't really argue with her because I know shes right. (">
