    Default Outside delivery box.

As a family we are ordering more and more on line.
We're out most of the day and so are the neighbours so I was thinking maybe there's a solution for home delivered parcels.
So after typing in 'outside delivery box' into google I came across things like these...........

    Default Outside delivery box.

Yeah be off wall in minutes in some places and cost of it would mean quite a few trips to a local depot a year just to get back the cost of buying one , if you live miles away from everyone and delivery depots then handy in that situation

The problem with those you listed is that it's one single delivery a day, I looked extensively in to parcel safes and they didn't really suit what I was looking for.
I did end up with the one below and it is really good, bit of a compromise but catches stuff that wouldn't go through a letter box so my trips to depots are only for larger items now. We can't use the letterbox so we had to get an outside box and that seemed the best compromise, delivery drivers do use it and I have had signed for stuff delivered in it using the pin code method. Really easy to fit, pretty secure and easy to retrieve item from it.

Tracking example, code changed obviously -
Your parcel has been delivered and signed for by POST BOX UNIQUE CODE 1234 at 09:42 on Mon 10 Mar 2014

Got to agree with others - putting up one of these would be bonkers.

Much more secure than having a parcel randomly left on your doorstep though, and depends where you live, at my last place not a chance, here no problem.

And additionally the postman was grateful for it, makes his job easier and he has already gone a bit above an beyond with larger parcels, will be useful come christmas both the safe and having the postman on side.

I order loads of stuff but I'm all over the place so this is also a problem for me.

I use the address of a mate's business - he's always got staff there in office hours to receive the delivery, and I normally pop there once or twice a week anyway so it works well for me.

Only other serious option I could think of was find a kid to pay £20-30 a day to sit and wait for them.

Point a CCTV camera on the the box and have it well secured to the ground, problem solved .
You could set it up to alert you of any movement and even watch it on your phone .

Not an option for me, work don't allow it and the Mrs works irregular hours.

I also dread to think where some of you live.

I have an old Vauxhall Astra alongside the drive and deliveries are left in there. I have a sign on the door which points this option out to the delivery guys. Security camera makes sure they do leave the item and will show if someone else takes it afterwards. I agree with OC's point about someone in a balaclava nicking the stuff and I know the sign on the door is also telling everyone else where to look if they wanted to nick something but where I am the item could be left on the pavement or on the front wall and it would still be there the next day. The postman even signs special delivery or recorded on my behalf and if small enough will post through letterbox and large recorded items will be left in the car. Makes life easier for me and for the postman. Been doing this for about three years and no problems yet.

When I finally get around to replacing the ecu and pump on the Astra I will be getting rid so I may be looking for some sort of safe box. Always got a car or two lying around my property so it would have to be cheap for me to justify buying one. If you are in a reasonably good neighbourhood then I think a safe box is a valid option.
