Default Recovering from a Mothers Day funk up..

The wife has taken down the current collection of Bad Books, destroyed the current design of the Dog House and I have a feeling the term 'Black Bagged' might change soon. She is re-writing and re-building them all for me which is nice.

First Mothers Day and I basically didn't make an effort...
Wife was Up 'Norf all week and I brought them back on Saturday.
(Excuses time..) I have been busy all week with work and doing some DIY in the house whilst the wife and boy were away.
Monday after getting in from work I was up until 2am with said DIY.
Tuesday I was out after work seeing a man about a job as I need to get away from he current place. This went on until about midnight.
Wednesday was the last chance I had to get the house tidy and ready for them coming home, another late finish.
Thursday was a work thing, I managed to get in about 11:00pm
Friday I was on the 7:52am train back up 'Norf.

So, I had organised a meal out and a special breakfast for yesterday. I also picked up the card which I wanted to write with the boy, ok he is only 3 and a half months old but I wanted some pics with the pen in his hand.
I managed that much. Card, breakfast and meal. Plan was to go out and get some flowers/chocs on his early morning walk. He was poorly though and the routine went out of the window along with the flowers/chocs.
I also attempted to book some treatment in the local Spa, but they were difficult and I came off the phone with nothing. The intention was to get some gift vouchers when I went out for the flowers/chocolates.

A lot of intention and I was going to I know. I genuinely wanted to make much more of an effort but the end result was piss poor. I didn't want to take her 'away' as we only just got back from up 'Norf and I had not seen them both for a week.

She sent me a text message from bed last night (she went to bed early) basically calling me a cnut. Not her usual style which makes me think I have seriously done it this time.

Ordered some 'Sorry' flowers this morning. Not sure what the gesture will achieve but I thought I had best do it.

How do I rescue this situation? I honestly tried to do more, just not enough. She had digs at me all day about how I could have had flowers delivered on the Sunday, I tried in my defence to say we might have gone for a walk and missed the delivery but to no avail.

Others must have messed up and dug themselves out of the hole I am in. I honestly wish I had gone out on the lash now to watch the footy instead. Would have been easier to deal with.

    I have done

As far as I can tell all I have done is forgot Flowers and Chocolates... Hardly crime of the century.
The chocs she will devour in seconds, the flowers will die after a week.

I ordered a printed mug and coaster set this morning with a picture of the boy writing the card.
If I had the chance a week ago I would have done it all then, but she was away and I was not able to do so.

We will see where that gets us.

Been there a few times, got the t-shirts! Nowt you can do in the short term that you aren't already doing. Damage is done, she won't change her tune for a week or so (will also be raised in any future argument where she sees fit!). Best bet is to surprise her this weekend with something special / bit different. Good luck, ha ha.

I know! Part of me wanted to blame this company for the flowers, this company for the chocolates, this company for the gifts.. I honestly thought that been up front about it would work in my favour..

Yeah, I will have to start looking for something now.
She even shot in my face the fact I bought my Mam an iPad mini for mothers day (and Birthday & Xmas - combined gift), I ordered that weeks ago though.
Bit of a role reversal as I am normally the one to get upset about shit like this.

We walked past the restaurant yesterday about an hour before we were due to go in. I asked her to walk on to the shop whilst I popped in to ask them if our table was still ok, with the real reason me asking them to get me some flowers from the florist next door and put them on the table for us. The wife could see through my plan and waited outside and watched. I had no chance to save it really.

    Jesus, I'm glad that I don't have:

    a) Such a needy partner
    b) A child
    c) The bollocks of a eunuch

It's not her birthday or Christmas. It's Mother's day. Given her child is so young, she's lucky she got anything. I'm pretty certain my dad never did anything like that until I was old enough to buy my own cards/flowers.

...or they all turn up with stories of how great their first Mother's Day was! I always fucked up on Mother's Day, (I still don't get it) until my son began doing cards at nursery!! So you've only got about 2 more mothers days to suffer!

Does not help she has been around her own funked up mother for the last week. Her mothers stupidity has probably rubbed off onto her.
I honestly see this escalating even more.. Who the fuck invented mothers day in any case. Cunt.

When it gets to fathers day I want to be left alone, to go down 't pub and watch 't footy on my own.
She did fuck all for my birthday so fuck her.

What are peoples thoughts on using the learning stick on the wife? By learning stick I mean fists as I do not have a stick yet.

The total number of abortions in the UK 2012 was 185,122. Tell her she should be fucking happy that she's in the position to be able to have a lovely son and to stop being a spoiled cunt.

    stop being a fucking idiot.
Leave it for a couple of days and then apologise.Once and thoroughly.
If she doesn't warm,or allow a line to be drawn under it, then yes, you have a problem, but joking or not, putting your hands on her will compound the issue.
She's a new mum for fucks sake, irrespective of your mum in law, put yourself in your wife's shoes for a minute.
She feels let down by you and quite rightly so.
It would have taken very little time to pull the stops out and make her feel special, especially as she'd been away all week.

I thought mothers day was the kids responsibility. If the kid is too young to buy anything then that's not your problem. Your responsibility for mothers day is your mother

wow, she sounds fucking mental mate, i'd be tempted to go get some chocolates and a bouquet of flowers and shit in both of them before handing them over and see if she prefers that
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

It's all about making her feel like a cow now and not go on about it

Just had a call off her, she was updating me on the boy and testing the water I think. I mentioned the text she sent me last night and let her know I only saw it this morning. Got exactly the response I wanted.

Cow. Pissed off now I spent £45 on flowers to be delivered today!
