no photos today, but what we have learned is that 2 of the internal bulkheads that run the length of the engine room have to be renewed. Basically the steel bulkheads are now and I quote "biscuit tin thinness" in some places..

Take into account that these bulkheads hold back around 70ton of ballast water from entering the engine room!! Can you imagine if that bulkhead threw its hand in while we were at sea, we would be fucked...

Anyway that means a lot more money for the company to fork out and most likely will extend our time in drydock

bet you sleep really well onboard knowing that they dont replace stuff until its actually fucking dangerous!
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

well todays job (and for the next few days) is for me to strip down and overhaul/rebuild/repaint this seawater cooling regulating manifold for the port main engine...

all the while, the main engines are getting boxed up ready for the bulkhead cutting to start...

A few interesting ones from today

this first picture shows the state of the steel hull, which now has to be replaced. The inner bulkhead (the one i was talking about which seperates the ballast water from the engine room) is wafer thin in some places, and this photo really doesnt do it justice, but it does give you an idea of what seperates us from the sea. In this photo they cut a hatch out of the deck to gain access to the tank from the top ... the resulting picture shows the condition of the bulkheads either side....

These next photos show the extraction of the shafts and propellor blades....
