Virgin Media Increaasing Broadband speeds for free yet again.... :)

I'm currently on the 60Mb Connection. Logged into my VM account online.... being upgraded to 100Mb at no extra cost. Admittedly, it's a while away but still, not too shabby.

in the day i can download at around 7000-8000 Kbps for about 5 Hours then it slows to around 3500 Kbps for a few hours

Means you will get capped quicker matey unless they take of the caps

Its not free come on. No one gives anything free. There is a price rise in Feb 2014 and there was one in September 2013 if I remember

The new speed reductions on downloads are at worst 16% which is nothing really.

I just reduced mine from 120 to 30 and dropped all the TV, need to save money. Apart from large downloads which I will do at night the only pain is the crap upload speed. . .again, overnight and saving a fortune.

TBH unless your going to hammer the broadband theres no real reason to get the new packages. i get a "loyalty" deal which if i come out of to get another package i will loose out.

Admittedly, there's the price increase. Just like everything else that goes up... Electricity etc. etc. However, new laws do offer customers the chance to back out of a contract with no penalty if the price increases during the contract.


Have to admit, I'm lucky, my employer covers the costs of my broadband so I'll end up on a 100Mb connection at no cost to me. I don't really need 100Mb but seeing as I don't pay for it...

Same.here mate i dont grab a lot nowadays however they emailed the other day and told me.they were putting there prices up. I basically said put me through to retentions. Low and behold tbey have reduced it. Even though im stil in contract with them. Aparently if they increase the price even if you are in contract u can cancel. Seems to me most peeps.dont bother complaining so virmin make more money

I dont understand why Virgin do these download speeds but don't seem to put the same/matching effort into upload speeds
