Sky code for OAPs!

Hey all,

In-laws have asked me to see if i can get their monthly bills down for them. The glaringly obvious one is their Sky package; they are paying full whack and have been for many years as they don't know any different - they even still have the same white Sky box from the original installation almost 10 years ago

Does anyone have any codes, be it cancel and rejoin or for existing members - or is it worthwhile callimg Sky to threaten to leave in the hope they will offer them incentives to stay?

First thing I'd do is ring Sky and explain and see what they will offer. I'd expect a HD box and a decent discount without much effort.

Code are available but for new customers, give Sky a call and ask for the retentions dept and they have the power to move heaven and earth.

yeah, i was looking at cancelling and then using a code to rejoin. Anything to get their bill down really! (oh yeah and get rid of the nasty, now yellowish, box!)

As realist said, call up and go through to the retentions department. Ask nicely but firmly that you want a deal and I'm sure they will sort you out. I usually call every 18 months or so for an upgrade or sub change. Just have an idea of what your after before calling.

My last call was to cancel my BE Internet(now owned by sky) and ended up with half price 76Mbps fibre pro for six months and free phone line rental for the year and a new 2TB HD box which was a nice to have but they didn't even argue.

sorry to hijack but is there any decent deals out there for new customers at the minute, just interested in TV not phone or broadband, cheers
