My mother is looking to buy a tablet, she was looking at the Lenovo Yoga but reviews suggest it's not brilliant.
Anybody have any ideas on what's a decent tablet in that sort of price range?

We have had a couple at work to play with - full windows 8.1 for sub £200 is a bargain. Obviously it has a couple of issues but if you wanted Full windows on a 8" you cant really get cheaper.
They are end of life-ing them in the next month or so and will be releasing a new version soon (apparently keeping with a similar price model)

I'd buy another nexus 7(2013).
Does she want brand new? I'd look for a 2nd hand 32gig lte model if I was you.

Or, I'd also stump for a Nexus.
Failing that, the Tesco Hudl.

We all make mistakes sometimes
I think you need to determine what size screen she would prefer first. And determine what she is going to use it for mainly !

For a mom I'd probably go for a kindle fire hdx, mayday button, kindle books etc

An iPad 2 is definitely achievable for under 2 ton.
I've bought both my parents iPads and they love them to bits. Android tablets are for enthusiasts, not tech challenged parents.

For a lot of people especially the elderly a bigger screen is very important. GTI has nailed it with the iPad choice for none tech Savvy older people. I also bought both my folks iPads and they love them as they are pretty foolproof to use. I think my Mum who is 80 would struggle with an Android tablet to be honest. Again you need to look at the needs and the ability of the User.
