They connect to providers of IPTV services. The picture quality (HD although lower bitrate than a broadcast channel) and channel change time is good enough. I think the channel change time actually beats my skybox f5s.

Depends what you want it for. With the subscription it's got at the moment it's quite a big selection from Sky's package, just no sports. PM me if you want to know where to get the sports subs from.
