    Default Anyone work for Aldi.

Got an interview regarding a position with them. Looks like it's 25 hours contracted which isn't ideal as I'd prefer more but I suppose overtime will be available at times. I've done some googling and seems to be a mixed bag of 'reviews' regarding their working practices etc.

Just wondered if anyone here works for them, or knows someone personally who does and what's their consensus on them overall? I know you'll get good and bad practices and managers at times can be the sorts you'd rather not work for regardless of what business it is but just after some 'optimism' really!

I always heard they were great to work for. I dont think any of the other supermarkets offer the same kinda money aldi pay.

We used to have a homemade video doing the rounds at work called Aldi Girls that was two scrote girls from Fleetwood. To be fair they put on a good show but not sure about their work ethic.

My next door neighbour works for them. She says they work her to the bone and it is really hard graft. She doesnt mine as they pay decent wages.

Cheers guys. Didn't manage to get through the 'group stage' on this one. 16 of us going for a couple of jobs. It wasn't a 'one on one' interview, just a group session so someone's going to lose out.

Never mind, got another interview for another job tomorrow so onwards and upwards as they say.

I think tomorrow, I'll smarten up a bit and leave the dungarees, clay pipe and straw hat at home.. may even shave my long unkempt beard whilst I'm at it.

Never mind mate, it would have been hard work putting out all the reetabix benguins worbartons loaves bottles of ilk and so on.
No sympathy for the devil; keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride...

On the + side if they don't think you good enough to work for them then think their shops are not good enough for your money either ;-)

Nearest type of shop like that to me is Lidl rather than Aldi anyway mate. A few people confused the two today actually lol.

Someone did ask if they're unsuccessful on this occasion, is it worth re-applying if another store opens up locally in the future and the guy said it wouldn't be worth it as if he doesn't consider you are what they want at this stage, you'd be wasting your time.

Sounds a bit harsh, but I like honesty like that and saves me wasting my time (and theirs) with them in future.
