Made a site for the wife's "friend"

im trying to access the site again and im getting:

The site belongs to Callme. Im pretty sure he is well within his rights to take his own site offline. Personally that is what I would do. Why should he "gift" her his work which has been unpaid and no formal contracts exchanged. That would be a bit like me setting up a site selling ManU tickets (lets just say it points directly to ticket office and is high on Google as I used adwords lol) and then deciding fook that Im a pool supporter now Im going to take it offline and put up my Liverpool tickets site now....I don't think in that case ManU would be able to moan about loss of sales because I had took my own site offline. Same goes here.

This happen to a friend of mine, slightly different situation but it got to the point of solicitors being involved he ended up having to serve notice transfer the domain to the business and send the site on a CD, the only difference he was an employee of the company but in your case you could claim copyright on the site he could not

I could do the copyright on the logo, as I did design it.

My wife no longer works for the club, hence I am no longer linked in any way. I don't see why I should have a contract in my name for a site I am in no way linked to. Not spite, just fact ;-)

As far as I'm concerned she deserves any aggro you can create for her. If she did take legal action though the courts may see it as a spiteful act if you haven't offered her the chance to take it over. You could also charge her an administration fee for signing the site over to her or for backing the site up on to a disc or emailing it to her. Just don't do anything that could be interpreted as 'getting her back'. For now take the site offline and change the homepage to 'down for maintenance' and see how she reacts. (">

cant get access to the site now anyway. cant even remember the customer ID number to log in through the 1&1 site.

i used to login through the actual site itself, but since its not accessble due to this 500 error i cannot get on anyway. bollocks.

Sounds like the web server has encountered an unexpected condition and cannot fulfill your request. This could be down to something as simple as a missing apostrophe in your code. What a pity... could take weeks to track it Down. (">

Server Error 500..

If you had not changed anything code wise on the site.... then it is probably PHP or ASP stopped running and service needs starting again or server reboot required.

Site will probably start working again soon when 1&1 realize problem and sort it.

Take it down mate..... login to 1&1 via TOR Browser if you are worried then it isnt your IP and you can deny all knowledge if required ;-)

If you find that this approach is fruitful for you, so be it. I am finding success has come a lot easier when I have worried less about the behaviour of others.
