    Hardware OnePlus One

Stupid name but looks like a great phone. www.oneplus.net

I may consider trading in the HTC One I have now for this thing, 64GB, 13MP camera, LTE 5.5" screen and only $349 - looks like a beast to me.

Would anyone else consider this or does it look too good to be true?

That's the USA Price. . . always quoted without tax, UK will likely be roughly Dollar to Pound plus VAT..

Looks like a great phone to upgrade to, but it's yet to be released.
A lot of phones could reach that spec before that one becomes available.

Talks a good fight, but entering the ring against the big boys will be fierce competition.

Even still, left say £299 for the 64GB model? that's a great price. sim only contracts can be had with plenty data for under £10/month. far cheaper than the ~£40/Month most phones go for

Plus £60 VAT AND the fact that the company, as has been said here has to compete with the big boys, lots of cheap alternative service providers have come and gone . . . .

£269 for 64GB and £229 for the 16 seems to be the official price for the UK version according to this: http://www.androidauthority.com/16gb...ersion-377572/

Even as a long time HTC man, this is tempting.

Where would I be able to preorder a 64gb one from or is it too early to ask?

By the looks of it it's going to be in june.

Our production schedule is as follows:

    • Ready now - 100 for phone smashers
    • Mid to late May - Larger batch 16GB Silk White for the first batch of invites
    • Late May to early June - Larger batch 64GB Sandstone Black
    • Later in June - Increased general availability, people who want it should be able to get an invite without much trouble in June

Update May 6: After seeing how popular the 64GB version was compared to the 16GB, we have pushed back the production of the 16GB Silk White in favor of getting the 64GB Sandstone Black out quicker.

    But will it though?

This is a Chinese company shipping worldwide - transit times from China to UK and China to US are roughly similar.

also, USA quite often gets handsets way later than Europe / UK (except Apple stuff, but that's an American firm)

If it's anything like there previous phones good hardware and crap software (as most vendors seem to do)

Saying that, if you are comfortable enough rooting and installing CyanogenMod or similar, it doesn't really matter what like the OS is.

Service as in if/when it goes faulty or service as in calls/SMS/Data?

If its the former most vendors (HTC for example!) will ask you to send the phone back to them anyway so doesn't really matter where they are based.
and for the latter, SIM only contracts are very common (and cheap) nowadays anyway

It will be a very popular phone, so no end of custom rom options. Although, like you have said, I'll probably whack on a stable CM build.

I love the marketing of this. You can only buy one if your invited by a mate. Like you're in an exclusive club (Or Private Torrent Tracker).
TBH, I'm after the HTC One M8, but if this was an option, I'd have bought this instead by now.

But there is Dramas happening already - Damn that massive commercial LG Mobile phone manufacturer!! lol

I like the HTC Handsets, had many and currently use the One M7, but the M8 doesnt excite me

The 2 camera thing is a bit of a gimmick and the 4MP "ultrapixel" whilst it is a good idea, in reality it's shite. It's the biggest downside to the otherwise fantastic HTC One M7 that I've used for about a year.

I'm thinking of either going for a OnePlus One, or an OPPO Find 7 when they are both released. however that may change is a Nexus 6 (or whatever it'll be called) comes along.
