Default Hit, confronted and given false details.

Wife's car got hit a car park today.

She wasn't in it but luckily another car park user confronted him.

After trying to say he couldn't help as he's disabled (?) he gave the woman false details.

However what the prick didn't do was leave.

My wife returned to our car, the witness gave her all the details and my wife took plenty of pics.

I can happily pass all the data to my insurance company but what a cunt eh?

Will his insurance company actually pay out though? I thought car parks were classed as private land?

Since around 1990 insurance has extended to roads or other public places, in other words places like supermarket car parks. You need to inform your insurance and give them the other drivers details. A supermarket car park has public access so the road traffic act applies.

If the other driver is prepared to pay without going through the insurance company it will be a better option because your next premium is likely to go up even if the accident isn't your fault. Just making a claim is enough of an excuse for the robbing bas***ds to sting you for more money. (">

Pass it to the Police, leaving the scene of an accident. . . .

Giving a false name and address after an accident will not be looked upon favourably by the police either.

@chubbs. Have you already contacted the police with the registration? How else would you have found out the person gave false details? (">
