    Default Hedging bets?

I just wondered what was the best method of hedging bets. The scenario is I have had 9 out of 10 football results come in and the final result will be tomorrow, recently I have had quite a few of my 10+ folds fail on the last result so I was looking to hedge this one.

The final game is Elche v Barcelona, I can get 12/1 on the home win and I think around 3/1 on the draw. I would ride it out but I have lost out on a few recently as I didn't hedge... With odds like 12/1 it's easy to put a tenner on the home win and draw and I will recover my stake with a little profit at worst. I'm not looking at a huge return if Barcelona win as all were odds on or evens so don't want to spend a lot on the hedge. Is the best idea to just do a tenner on home and £15 on the draw or is there a better way of working out the method?

    Cheers

Yes you join betfair and "Lay" Barcelona (Meaning you are betting against a Barca win). How much you need to lay purely depends on what winnings you are expecting if they win. At the moment they are 1.26 (1/4) to lay...meaning that you are offering other punters 1/4 for them to be barca.....in effect you are the bookie. I am not great at explaining this stuff but here is a link to the game.

Essentially at 1.26 the lay if you stake £100 you will pay out £26 if they win and get £100 if they lose.

Cheers, I layed £100 off so if Barcelona win I get about £250 and if they don't win I get £100. Thanks for the advice, I haven't layed a bet before.

Yuk should have used my refer a friend and we both would have got an extra £25....never thought sorry. You should as a new account still get a £25 matched bet though.

And a good job you layed them 0-0 end of season is a funny time though. Nice £100 anyway.

I was pretty pissed off still, thought I had that one in the bag covered my weeks bets with a bit of profit but not much.
