    and so it begins

    http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footba...-world-3531576

Ill just wait till England are knocked out in the quarters as per usual and the excuse of the media expectations s brought up.

Don't get me wrong Ill be supporting England but no chance they can win it.

A Scot supporting England....! That deserves a Thanks.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if England make it out of the group.

About time a manger has the balls to field youth over experience.

Where has experience gotten us in recent tournaments? FFS we have taken broken players with us because we felt they would intimidate the opposition and lift us the Trophy.

What we have is a mainly a bunch of young lads who want to play and want to win for their country. I like that Lampard has being called up, bring him on with 10/15 mins to go when we need the old Lasher to try and blast one in if we are desperate. Hopefully we won't need him and we will cruise through and win it (<----- shut up you stupid cunt!).

If anything at least this World Cup has brought us some decent adverts. The Curry's ones are good and the Carlsberg one.

Totally agree Goldberg, about time an England manager went with youth and enthusiasm because if these young lads get a chance they'll go for it...and if he sticks with the youth and we don't make it out of the groups who cares, it's all about building for the future as other nations always do, in the past we've been too hung up on old has beens who frankly bottle it, the young ones in the team will just go for it no fear...well done Woy!

    So starting selection?

Hart, Baines, Shaw, Cahill, Jags, Barklay, Sterling, Gerrard, Llanana, WellBeck and Sturridge.

Gerrard in holding role let the others use flair and pace.

    Go for it boys!

    Either way Hodgeson is doomed.

If he went with experience the media will say he should have went with youth and vice versa.

There is no middle ground on this.. All I know is that he should have called up Heskey! 10 Goals in 42 games for Newcastle Jets! Come on!

I feel sorry for Hodgson. It must be difficult to examine every Englishman in the Premier League and decide which two to leave at home.

Im scottish and always support England...unless you are playing us of course....Most of the anti england footy team stuff is basically banter guys. We all like a wind up and you lot can't really wind us Jocks up as we are shite to begin with and know we are lol. Feck I was living in Canterbury in Euro 96....the bloody stick I took....but I was back out with the lads for the next England games...good drama as per....Even when Andy Murray said "ABE"...I am convinced it was pure banter that was twisted out of all proportion....yet people still hate him for it...just a 18yo kid messing about with the press pack...but the crucified him for it.
Anyway with all that aside I think this is a brave move by Woy....but TBH I think he is in the perfect position to do this rebuilding due to him not being super popular and due to most people really not expecting too much. They might surprise everyone....until penalties lol. Good luck England.

    Thanks to DavidF

    Flappy hands Hart
    and
Let's give the opposition a massive advantage by taking a man off and not replacing him. We cannot do that Boss... Ok let's put Henderson on then!

I am sure we will be OK. To be fair to Henderson he improved a lot this season. Last season it was like bringing two men off when Liverpool brought him on.
Hart... Well he struggled earlier in the season. Let's hope he can deal with the pressure.

Unless Hendo replaced Lucas, then it was like-for-like

I'm confident in Hart. He'll be on a high now he's got another Prem winner's medal.

Really? Rooney's pretty much playing out of position in that role and it's one Sturridge has excelled at this season... Can't see that happening to be honest. I think if Rooney does play he'll be at the top of a 4-1-4-1 diamond behind Sturridge.
