Default Tablet can it replace a laptop full time

    Hi

Find myself using my android phone over my laptop more and more

I have another laptop used as a plex server so just use my laptop for browsing and the odd flash game

Anybody binned laptop for a tablet full time ?

Thinking its going to have to be a 10 inch tab as 7 seems a bit to small

tablets are ok if you just wanna browse news or other light websites and play games, but generally I need a keyboard to do anything important, including use forums.

Although they are undeniably useful, I still find them far from essential.

I agree. I would rather wait until I am at my computer than try and do anything more than light browsing, maybe to check on something when checking it later will not suffice.. Really depends what you use your computer for. I use Coreldraw, Photoshop, Visual Basic and numerous other programs which I could not (and wouldn't want to) use with a tablet. (">

I use my phone over my laptop a lot more nowadays but I'm to lazy to sit holding a tablet all night. Much prefer slouching on the sofa with my arms crossed and the lappy popped open...

Surface pro, without a shadow of a doubt, can take over from a pc/laptop. It. Is. Exceptional. Bang in a micro sd and you're away. Touch keyboard means you can be productive at a desk, although a wireless keyboard and mouse would make things more comfortable. Has Wacom tech and pen for any computer artists/photoshoppers. Screen is slightly larger than 10 inches (it seems much easier to use than the old eeepc). Full windows and MS office. Can't fault it. Build quality, phenomenal.

Bit expensive at the moment (seriously, this thing is a pc) but the first version is reduced and offering 80 quid off. No doubt the pro prices will drop soon as Microsoft are announcing more tablets this Tuesday.

If you don't need to run executable files then you can get the original RT for 200 squids atm. Despite what people say about RT, there isn't a tablet that compares (not even the almighty ipad)

P.S. no I don't work for Microsoft. If they see this I hope they throw me some monies.

I just got an HP Omni 10 for £236, and I am well impressed. It's full Windows 8.1, not RT, and it really is outstanding. We have Ipad's and Android tablets in the house, which is why I fancied a change. The browser experience on this tablet is incredible, and being windows, I will never again have any problems with lack of Flash or the likes.

Not for me, and not sure it would ever. I need my laptop for work. Phone / tablet is ok for light use, on train etc but nothing beats laptop or full desktop.
