Photos Garden bugs odds and sods 15/05/14

From the garden today, a few flyers:

Blurred sawfly - I just wasn't quick enough to get a sharp shot it so fast:

Fly with spider mites parasitically attached:

A Mason Bee, Osmia rufa (probably)...

Either a cuckoo bumblebee or a red-tailed bumblebee - collecting, and then buggering off...

And finally the very smart "Tree bumblebee" (Bombus hypnorum), which is quite a small bumble, but none the less, a welcome flyer in anyone's garden. Queens, workers and males all have a black head, brown-ginger thorax, black abdomen with a white tail. The proportion of white on the tail does vary significantly but is always present. This species was first found in the UK in 2001, but is now found throughout most of England and Wales.

    Paul.
