Get a FREE two-month Family and Friends Railcard when you register via this special Railcard trial link by Wed 21 May. You should receive the Railcard by Sat 31 May at the latest. It's then valid to use until Thu 31 Jul - giving you at least two months free.

PLUS you'll get a code to get the annual card for £20 instead of £30. The link was originally published in the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror. It'll appear again on Sun 10 May, but is now in the public domain.

What does the Family and Friends Railcard get me?
We think the Family Railcard is a cracking deal. Here's what you get:

• Up to four adults (aged 16 and over) can get a 1/3 off their rail fares.
• Up to four children (aged 5-15) will get 60% off their fare.
• TWO adults can be named on the card.
• The only proviso is there must be at least one child and one adult travelling together.
• But you don't need to be related.

I remember going to Newcastle once and was cheaper to travel up with my daughter using one of these.

Currently I am buying the tickets required 12 weeks before.
You can set reminders on The Trainline website and they will email you when the cheapest tickets for that journey are available.

So, Journeys that would cost you £118 on the day are only costing me £15.50! I then buy them direct from the operators site to avoid the Trainline admin fee.

Shame I cannot use this card as no kids will be travelling over 5.
